Come in,

have a look round.

An 1820s townhouse on a quiet Stockbridge street: three floors, six consulting rooms, a kitchen with the kettle on and a walled garden at the back.

Ring the bell,

then come in.

There’s no reception desk and nobody behind glass. The front hall is where you’ll wait, and it’s about as calm as a hall can be.

Before you come

Nothing to fill in. Your therapist has read the notes from your call, and that’s all they need.

At the door

The door is on the latch during session hours. Ring once and come straight in; there’s no intercom to talk into.

In the hall

Hang your coat and take a seat on the bench by the window. Your therapist comes down for you on the hour.

Afterwards

Sit in the garden or the kitchen for a few minutes if you need to. Nobody will hurry you out of the front door.

Three floors

and a garden.

Six consulting rooms, every one with a window that opens. Most people see their therapist in the same room each week, and you can always ask for a different one.

Ground floor

The front hall, the kitchen and one consulting room, all on the level, with the accessible loo at the back of the hall.

Top floor

The stair turns twice more under a glass cupola. There’s no lift, so tell us if stairs are hard and we’ll book you downstairs.

Walking sessions

Some people find it easier to talk side by side. Ask for a walking session and you’ll do laps of the garden instead.

The front door is five steps up. For a level way in, use the gate on the lane beside the house: a flat path leads to the garden room and the hall.

By bus

Lothian buses 24, 29 and 36 stop on Raeburn Place, about four minutes’ walk.

By bike

Two stands in the front area. Folding bikes can come into the hall.

By car

A quieter wait

If you’d rather not wait in the hall, say so when you book and we’ll keep the kitchen free for you.
