Night noise: what 40 dB actually sounds like
The World Health Organization’s night guideline is quieter than most bedrooms. We recorded ten of them to find out.

The WHO Night Noise Guidelines for Europe suggest that night-time noise outside homes should stay around 40 dB to protect sleep. Most city bedrooms we measured were well above that with the window open.
Sleep you do not remember losing
You do not have to wake up for noise to affect sleep. Heart rate and sleep stage change in response to sounds you never hear consciously. That is why a night bus at 3 a.m. can leave you tired without a single memory of it.
Sleep mode
Quelde One’s sleep mode turns off the touch controls, drops the chime volume and keeps cancellation on for up to nine hours on one charge.
