Wayfinding people remember

Guests forget room numbers. They remember which side of the building they slept on.

Two sides

Hotel Veer has a water side and a car-park side, and used to sell both at one price. We named them Waterside and Quayside and let everything follow: signs, key cards, prices, the booking page.

The signs are painted straight onto the walls in a wide, friendly typeface, brass for the water and green for the quay. You always know which way you’re walking.

What changed

Waterside rooms now carry a 22% premium and book out first. Guests stopped asking reception where the lift is.
