Pollen forecasts people can plan a day around.
01 Challenge
Pollen Atlas had the best forecast model in Europe and an app only researchers could read: raw counts, Latin species names and a map with forty colours.
02 Approach
We interviewed 30 hay-fever sufferers and learned they want one answer: when is it safe to go out? The forecast now leads with that answer and keeps the science one tap away.

03 Build
An iOS and Android app, a lock-screen widget, a public map and an API explorer for researchers, all drawn from one data-visualisation system.

04 Outcome
Daily users grew from 12,000 to 210,000 in one season, and the forecast is now licensed by two national weather services.

They turned our model into something my mother checks every morning.
